I am so thrilled to report that rehydrating Virgie was EASY and a SUCCESS!! I had previously tried to do my own starter for a month, we were making progress but she just wasn’t strong enough and I was anxious to start making successful loaves. I purchased Virgie, followed the directions- their video on YouTube also helped for a visual. 5 days later Rita was born (I named her after my late grandmother). Since then I have baked a successful loaf, sandwich bread and cinnasticks. I have followed some of their sourdough recipes on YouTube and have only had success!!! It’s truly a purchase that keeps giving.

I was so scared to start my sourdough journey after reading 17,679,444 people’s comments and opinions and what to do and what not to do I will admit I was beginning to get nervous and not even try it at all. I came up Cajun Mama’s and Virgie…and my heart was set to try! Well I started Virgie last Sunday and she became Mother Mary by Thursday! I’ve already taken a few discards and made a new starter for my daughter in law, my sister, and my sister from another mister (My Best Friend!) and she’s already sharing the love in TN and AL! Today we tried to make a couple of goodies and they were a success!!! Can’t wait to get in the kitchen with my daughter and start some training and traditions for the future and Mother Mary !
My "Bertha" is completely flourishing!! I have already made one loaf and a batch of discard tortillas. I am so thankful to get a piece of Virgie and be able to provide delicious things for my family!
